So-
I've decided to take some advice and start a blog to help all those who may or may not care about me follow me on my journey to JORDAN for the summer! I don't know how often I'll be able to post, but at least I'll be able to keep those few that are interested posted on what is happening in the life of me! Exciting right?? I have been taught all the ins and outs of blogging by a VERY intelligent blogger, [thanks!] and I hope this will help ease the pain of seperation I will feel from all of you back home. Welcome to my thoughts on what is going on in my life-o and be prepared to be frightened, very frightened!

Some books you may want to check out (I like to read about an area when I go there...) Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books
by Azar Nafizi, Baghdad Without a Map by Tony Horowitz ( funny travel writing), Persian Girls: A Memoir by Nahid Rachlin (Memoir), A Thousand Splendid Suns and or The Kite Runner Khaled Hosseni (he's great-- fiction set in his home country, Afganistan), and I haven't read but have heard from students that they liked Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia
by Jean P Sasson. http://www.linkcat.info/ipac20/ipac.jsp?profile=#focus
Kadie,
Thanks for starting this blog so we can follow your journey. My emotions mimic yours...excited for you and a bit scared for you. But deep down I know this will the the experience of a life time, an opportunity that few will ever have. I am proud of your courageous spirit for seeking this out and stepping out into the world in such a brave fashion. My thoughts will be with you every day.
I love you,
Aunt Deb
P.S. We'll have extra smore's, candy store candy, and ice cream in your honor at the cabin this summer.
