GOSH THERE'S SO MUCH TO TELL I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN!!!!!
I just finished with my LAST Monday of classes of my Soph. year!! It's CRAZY how time flies! I swear Spring Break JUST happened!
Spring Break was AMAZING btw-We took a nice little jaunt on over to Jamaica, it was BEAUTIFUL and warm and the perfect week long hiatus from what was fast becoming another very stressful semester. We spent some time on the beach, (of course!) did a little parasailing, a little ziplining, a little waterfall-climbing, and a little cliff diving!! :) It was super fun, and some really great family time too! Like, it was just a nice little reminder that they're alright sometimes. :)
After returning home I had one WHIRLWIND of an April! The week I got back I had a MAJOR paper and a midterm and the very next weekend was a LOT of celebrating the birth of the one any only me! I can't believe I've been around for two whole decades already...again, crazy how time flies!! But then between more papers, more exams, more working, and of course another round of Optima Dance rehearsals, events and our final show, I definitely lost track of the ENTIRE rest of the month. I mean, it's May 3rd already!! WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN??? I can't believe I'm down to my last week of classes before finals, I can't believe this year is almost over, and I can't BELIEVE how everything is working out for next year!!!!!
Last week I found out that I was indeed accepted in to the study abroad program I had applied for!! I had the biggest smile on my face all day, I was TOO excited! (still am!) SO what does that mean? It means I'm going to be hopping on a plane in tow VERY short months and heading off to Haifa, Israel til January!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'll be studying at the International School of the University of Haifa and staying in Haifa (which, coincidentally is RIGHT on the Mediterranean, has some of the most beautiful beaches, and became one of my fav. places ever after being there for only one day). I bet I could even track down a picture of it for y'all....
BUT ANYWAY, I'll be going through an intensive Hebrew language immersion for the ENTIRE month of August, then I'll have ALL of September to meander and mosey my way about the Middle East, being sure to stop and stay with my old host family in Jordan for a few weeks (!!!!!!) before starting my semester in Haifa in October. I couldn't be more psyched, like honestly...if I weren't so stressed with end of semester finals and papers, people would literally SEE me bouncing up and down all the time! I'm looking into my classes and what I'll be taking now, as well as their internship program, which so far sounds pretty cool. And I still have yet to purchase a plane ticket, but those are all just minor details right???
I'm a little bit sad about the fact that I'll be missing some Christmas celebrations again this year, as my semester doesn't get done until halfway through January, as well as a few other major milestones. (A family wedding, my little brother's Senior football season and his 18th birthday, and what is sure to be another great Badger football season, etc.) And I'm sure my mother has ALREADY started missing me, or so she says....
But I also know with 100% certainty that this is what I'm supposed to be doing, this is where I was supposed to end up at the ripe old age of 20. I'm on the right path I can just FEEL it. I can't wait to be able to share it with everyone, I would have never made it this far without the love and support get every day. Sometimes its easy for me to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget just how lucky I am and just how blessed my life has been. MY only wish is that my dad could be around to be apart of it all, cuz so far, its been an amazing ride, and things are only looking up from here.
To clue everyone in, my plan after my semester in Haifa is to head on over and spend spring semester in Morocco. I'll let you know how that pans out. :)
For now, I have four more papers to write, four more exams to go and some SERIOUS celebrating to do when they're all done, then I've got two months in this wonderful city of Madison I call home before starting what is sure to be one of my greatest adventures yet. Thanks for sticking by me, until next time :)
Kadie
