One [very expensive] plane ticket has been purchased. One [very important] visa application has been submitted. One [apparently necessary] goodbye party has been planned. And one [very excited] girl has begun the bouncing-off-the-wall phase of life.
The countdown has officially started!! Woo hoo!! In exactly 54 days, I will be saying goodbye to Madison, to Wisconsin, and to the United States..and I'll be on my way! This train is just beginning to gain momentum, and I'm already so excited!!
There is still A LOT to do and prepare for. I still need to register with the U.S. State Department, I still need to receive my visa and get my passport back, I still need to take care of all the banking/insurance matters of life abroad, I still need to purchase a few choice items, and I still need to have some amazing Wisco summer experiences before I leave!
As for that goodbye party mentioned earlier, everyone is invited! It will be taking place on Friday, July 30th at my house is Poynette. (N2959 Tomlinson Rd, Poynette, WI 53955) It will start at 6:30 pm, and we'll have a bonfire, roast some marshmellows, etc....I wasn't really going to do much in so far as farewells go, but my mother insisted, so now, two nights before I leave the country for an, as yet, undisclosed period of time, you can come see me! Woo hoo!
Let me know if you might need directions or have questions, I can't wait to see everyone one last time, and I can't WAIT until I can start sharing all my stories with everyone while I'm abroad.
As far as the recent news coverage about Gaza, don't worry, Gaza is in southern Israel, and I'll be living in northern Israel, and no official travel warnings have been issued, everything is as safe and secure as ever! If anyone has no idea what I'm talking about, shame on you! Watch the news! Haha, but if you are curious, search any major news organization for information on the Flotilla to Gaza, ships filled with aid were heading to Gaza strip, and IDF forces acted defensively, killing several Turkish men and one American citizen. This event last Monday morning has done nothin but bring to light the continued occupation of Gaza, which the world seems to forget about as long as no Americans are being killed. Hmmm...
Anyway, we're still all systems go and I'm still SUPER excited!! Until next time! Peace, Love,
Kadie
